Burial of Wesley Everest, a Wobblie who shot and killed a man. He was caught and taken to jail. That night, an angry mob of over 1,000 men kidnapped Everest from jail and hanged him on a bridge outside of Centralia. Wobblies were persecuted throughout Washington State for days.
They not only hung him from the bridge, but shot him full of bullets after having drug him through the streets from the jail to the bridge. It is also said that they castrated him on the way. These were "CITIZENS"? Horrible and sickening. It was a mob mentality and it sickens me to drive over the bridge every day.
